Parent & Toddler Classes

This is a fun class where the child works with their parent/carer exploring the gym and it’s many exciting challenges. It is the perfect introduction to gymnastics, that we hope will instil a love for the sport that will continue in years to come! The class is suitable for toddlers from crawling, up to 5 years old. There are qualified British Gymnastics coaches on hand throughout the session offering guidance and support to the parents/carers and their toddler. Girls Bronze, Silver, and Gold

OVERVIEW TO GO HERE

  • Once a gymnast has achieved a specific set of more difficult skills, their coach will recommend they move into a Girls Bronze class, where they will work on more challenging skills on the floor, beam, bars, vault, tumble track, trampoline and conditioning with other gymnasts of a similar ability. Our Bronze groups will still train once per week but for a longer session.

When a gymnast is selected for Girls Bronze Gymnastics, the emphasis is still very much on fun, however your child will now be encouraged to challenge themselves a little further, and work on perfecting skills rather than simply achieving them.

If your child is offered a Girls Bronze class, you don’t have to accept it. You are still welcome to continue attending a Rec class if you feel it is more suitable for you or you’re not able to commit to a longer training session. If you do decide to accept a place in a Girls Bronze class, it will be a very exciting time for your gymnast as they will begin to learn impressive new skills and make new friendships.

Girls Bronze gymnasts will continue to work towards a National Award Scheme to earn certificates and medals.

Please note that Girls Bronze gymnasts are expected to have excellent attendance to training sessions to maintain their skill set and their place in the Girls Bronze group.

    Casablanca North Weald

    18:30 - 19:25pm Mon, Wed, Fri

    Class Fees

    £49.00 for one 2-hour class

  • Once a gymnast has worked through, achieved and perfected the skills taught in our Girls Bronze class, their coach will recommend they move into a Girls Silver class, where they will further develop their skills on the floor, beam, bars, vault, tumble track, trampoline and conditioning with other gymnasts of a similar ability. Our Silver groups also train once per week for a longer session than our Rec groups.

Again, the emphasis of the class is still on fun and participation, but the skill level will become more challenging with a focus on performing skills with very precise technique and execution.

If your child is offered a Girls Silver class, you don’t have to accept it. You are still welcome to continue attending a Rec or Girls Bronze class if you feel it is more suitable for you. If you do decide to accept a place in a Girls Silver class, be prepared to enjoy stepping up your skills to the next level, and training alongside other focused and dedicated gymnasts.

Girls Silver gymnasts will continue to work towards a National Award Scheme to earn certificates and medals.

Please note that Girls Silver gymnasts are expected to have excellent attendance to training sessions to maintain their skill set and their place in the Girls Silver group.

£49 for one 2-hour class. £70 for two 2-hour sessions.

  • Once a gymnast has achieved their Girls Silver skills with excellent technique, their coach will recommend they move into a Girls Gold class, where the difficulty level of the skills they will be working towards on the floor, beam, bars, vault, tumble track and trampoline will again be raised. Within our Gold groups, there will be a strong focus on conditioning, strengthening and body preparation to better equip our gymnasts to train at a higher level, speed up their development and aim to move towards our Girls Development of Girls Elite programme.

If your child is offered a Girls Gold class, you don’t have to accept it. You are still welcome to continue attending a Rec or Girls Silver class if you cannot commit to the twice weekly training.

Girls Gold gymnasts will train twice per week for a longer session than our Rec groups, and work towards entering competitions.

Please note that Girls Gold gymnasts are expected to have excellent attendance to training sessions to maintain their skill set and their place in the Girls Gold group.

Boys Intermediate

Gymnastics is split into many different disciplines that require different pieces of apparatus. The Casablanca Gyms are set up with the equipment required for Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. Boys are very welcome in our Parent and Toddler, Pre-School and Rec Gymnastics Classes, but we do not have advanced boys groups due to the discipline requiring a different set of apparatus. We do however offer a Boys Intermediate Programme.

Once a male gymnast has achieved a specific set of more difficult skills, they may be invited to join our Boys Intermediate group. This is a boys only class that will focus on somersaults, strength work, parkour tricks, tumbling, trampolining and vaulting at a higher level that offered in our Rec classes.

If your child is offered a Boys Intermediate class, you don’t have to accept it. You are still welcome to continue attending a Boys and Girls Rec class if you feel it is more suitable for you. If you do decide to accept a place in a Boys Intermediate class, it is a very exciting time for your gymnast as they step up their training to work on more advanced tricks and flips!

Gym Fusion

Gym Fusion is a gymnastics event like no other. Whether you are an athlete taking part, or a spectator. Gym Fusion is a spectacular discipline that you won’t want to miss!

Gym Fusion was launched as part of the British Gymnastics National Festivals Programme in 2011, and has seen participation grow year on year. Gym Fusion incorporates tumbling, acrobatics, dance, group routines and small apparatus (trampettes, springboards, handheld apparatus etc.).

Routines are performed to music in large groups, small groups and duos/trios. Routines can be themed, and are judged on difficulty, performance, creativity, and overall impression.

Our Gym Fusion Team is selected as part of an audition process. The team prepare a number of routes throughout the year, and go on to perform them at Gymnastique Magique competition in DisneyLand Paris. It is an amazing opportunity and a fantastic experience for the team and their family members who support them - definitely not an experience to be missed.

  • Casablanca North Weald

  • Gym Fusion Team training fees are £45.00, paid monthly via Direct Debit. Gym Fusion gymnasts also need to pay for the trip to DisneyLand Paris to compete at Gymnastique Magique.

Girls Elite Squads

Being asled to join our Girls Development or Girls Elite programme is a huge achievement and a great privilege that very few gymnasts achieve. We have two types of Squads - Girls Development & Girls Elite. Gymnasts are selected for these squad programmes based on a number of attributes such as attitude, work ethic, confidence, body preparedness and conditioning, flexibility and skill level.

If selected for a Development or Elite Squad, our coaching team will spend some time assessing the overall performance, attitutde and physical preparation of the gymnast which will then determine how many hours they will train each week. Over the coming months/years training hours may be adjusted to suit the gymnast’s personal development and competition level.

The training they undertake and the skills they work for are directly proportionate to the gymnast’s own development and attitude. Importantly, we want to ensure our gymnasts continue to enjoy gymnastics and to develop and grow. The harder they work and the more passion and commitment they put into their training, the more they will achieve. Development and Elite Squad gymnasts must continually work hard and show commitment to maintain their place in the programme. Gymnasts not able to maintain the attendance or skill level required will be moved down to a group that requires less commitment.

Development and Elite Squad gymnasts will work towards gymnastics competitions and grades.

  • Girls Development Squad gymnasts will train between 4 & 6 hours per week.

Girls Elite Squad gymnasts will train 8+ hours per week.

Training days and times are dependent upon the individual gymnast, and their development plan put in place by their coach.

Girls Development (6 hours per week)

Girls Development and Girls Elite Squads train all year round, with a 2 week break at Christmas.

  • All Gymnasts (apart from Parent & Toddler) are invited to take part in our club competition that is held in the Spring each year. It is a fun and friendly event, with all participants receiving a medal, and a chance for friends and family to spectate and celebrate their gymnast’s hard work in class.

At our Loughton Gym we have a comfortable viewing gallery with windows overlooking the Gym space. At our North Weald venue we have a comfortable waiting room with multiple television screens to allow viewing of all gym areas. Both waiting areas have a tea and coffee machine, vending machine and tables and chairs.

All classes at Casablanca have a waiting list. The waiting time varies in length. Generally, the North Weald waiting lists are shorter than Loughton, though this does depend on age range.
