Casablanca FAQs

How much are classes?

Classes are £30 for the first class and £15 for each additional class.

How do I pay for classes?

Class fees are paid by monthly direct debit through PaySubsOnline. You can set up your direct debit payment at the time of registration.

Is there a Casablanca membership fee?

There is no Casablanca membership fee for recreational athletes, but all of our Gymnasts, Trampolinists and Tumblers are required to be members of British Gymnastics.

The Casablanca Cheerleading competition team membership fee for the 2017/18 competition season is £30.

What is BG membership?

Did you know that joining Casablanca CGT includes becoming a member of British Gymnastics, the national governing body for gymnastics in the UK? Until this year we have sent members’ details such as names, ages and addresses to British Gymnastics to allow them to activate personal member benefits for you, such as insurance and discounts, and to send out your membership pack.

From October 2017, to comply with new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we will no longer be able to pass on these personal details to British Gymnastics. We are therefore asking all members (or your parent/guardian if you are under 16 years old) to renew your British Gymnastics membership directly on the British Gymnastics website.

A new membership process - here’s how it works

  • After you have paid your first monthly fee you will need to go to the British Gymnastics website https://www.british-gymnastics.org/ to complete your membership renewal process and pay your British Gymnastics membership fee (which we used to collect with your monthly fees).
  • This process creates your vital insurance cover. Until that registration process is completed on the British Gymnastics website you will not be able to attend our classes.
  • The registration system on the British Gymnastics website will be quick and easy to use by mobile phone, tablet, computer or laptop.
  • British Gymnastics will activate your membership and insurance cover immediately as well as sending your membership confirmation and benefits information by both post and email.
  • British Gymnastics will notify us when you have completed your registration.

Eastern Counties Gymnastics Association

We will still collect the regional affiliation fee of the local gymnastics body – The Eastern Counties Gymnastics Association. The annual fee of £2.50 will come out with your second months direct debit. This fee enables athletes to take part in county and regional activities and help local club development. https://www.british-gymnastics.org/east

How long is the waiting list?

Many of our classes have waiting lists that vary in length. Once you have registered for a waiting list, we will be in contact with you as soon as a space becomes available. Waiting times are difficult to predict, as we have to wait for members to either leave, or move up a group and we can’t predict when this will happen.

We run taster sessions once a month for you to attend whilst waiting for a space in a regular class.

Do classes stop for school/public holidays?

Our gym is open as usual during school and public holidays.

We close for a short period over Christmas.

There is no monthly fee payable in August. Regular weekly classes stop. We switch to our summer timetable of skills camps & pay-as-you-go classes through August.

In the unlikely event that the gym does need to close for any reason, you will be given plenty of notice.

What does my child wear?

Athletes should be dressed in something comfortable, and easy to move around in. Long hair should be tied back and jewellery should be removed.

Cheerleading – all athletes require trainers

Gymnastics – all athletes require bare feet

Trampolining – all athletes require socks

Tumbling – all athletes require bare feet

Hip-Hop – all athletes require trainers

Are parents allowed in classes?

No, we do not allow any parents in the gym for child protection reasons. We have parent/child classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. We also encourage parents involvement in our Disability class.

Do you do competitions/shows?

Our cheerleading competition teams compete in regional, national and international competitions.

Our squad gymnasts compete in local and regional competitions and festivals.

Our recreation gymnasts compete in optional club competitions.

What happens if I miss one of my classes?

Unfortunately we are not always able to offer make-up sessions if you miss a class. Where spaces are available in a session, it may be possible. If classes are full, we obviously cannot allow an extra child to join a class. Please speak to the coaching team if you need to miss a session and we will help where spaces allow.

Is there parking available?

Yes, our facility has assigned spaces for our members. Please use spaces marked with our Casablanca logo as we share the car park with our neighbours.

Are athletes tested/graded?

We have a proficiency award testing week every 10-12 weeks. Gymnasts and Trampolinists work towards the British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards for the chance to earn badges/certificates.

Can we do a taster session before signing up?

We have monthly gymnastics and trampolining taster sessions for athletes to attend whilst waiting for a space in a regular class. You can book in for these on our website.

What is the cancellation procedure?

You can cancel your place at Casablanca at any time by sending an email to info@casablancaCGT.co.uk. We will cancel your direct debit, and your place in the class will be terminated at the end of the month.
